JOSEF JAWOREK AUSTRIAN BENTWOOD ARMCHAIR
Bentwood armchair manufactured by the Austrian maker Josef Jaworek who manufactured for the Mundus Group (late 19th/early 20th Century) which merged with J&J Kohn and later became Thonet in 1922.
The armchair has the most lovely curved back detail, referred to as the Angel Chair design (originally by Thonet), perfect in a bedroom, study or sitting room.
The chair has decoration to the seat which is worn with age as expected, elbow rests and a bentwood frame. It is in really good original condition with paper maker's labels underneath. The wood is a lovely rich tone, there is a repair to the inside of the lower support ring where there was a slight split in the wood, but it is minor and not obvious.
PLEASE NOTE - Collection is from Heaton Moor, Stockport. We do not yet offer delivery. However, please contact us if you live further afield in the UK and would like to discuss arranging your own courier.
